The Logan Murphy Mengold Foundation was created in memory of Logan Mengold, an 8 year old boy who died from injuries he sustained in a skiing accident in 2019. Logan was as fierce a competitor as he was a friend, his family and friends created this foundation to keep that spirit alive. Logan was an early riser and never liked to sit still. He was always on the move. His approach in life was to leap and the net would appear. He was a daredevil, an adventurer and a boy who lived in the moment. Logan never met a sport he didn't like. He enjoyed the sidelines and pool deck shenanigans just as much as the competition. He loved being part of a team. Race and game days were his favorite. We have vowed to honor Logan by living in the moment, taking that adventure and continuing to dream big. This foundation will support organizations and activities Logan was passionate about including sports, music and theatre, as well as provide scholarships for local college-bound students.
The first ever Logan’s Lawn Olympics hosted by the Logan Murphy Mengold Foundation will take place on Sunday, September 18th from 1pm-5pm at Ballantine Park, Southbury in memory of Logan Murphy Mengold. Registration is open and it is shaping up to be a fun filled day!

Thanks to the many donations we received last year, we were able to donate a starting block to our local high school where Logan fell in love with the sport of swim and spent many hours practicing. It was a honor for us to make this investment along with many other amazing families and businesses in our community in support of the Championship Pomperaug High School Men's AND Women's Swim and Dive Teams.
Last night, The Logan Murphy Mengold Foundation awarded the Logan Murphy Mengold Memorial Scholarship and the Jane White Scholarship to two deserving students from Pomperaug High School. We are in our fourth year of awarding these scholarships and the students continue to impress us.
Logan’s scholarship is awarded to a student who has participated in sports he loved and that demonstrates strong character, good sportsmanship and a passion for competition all qualities Logan exemplified. This year’s recipient is Colin Martin.
Jane White was Logan’s 3rd Grade Teacher who retired in 2019 after 23 years of teaching in Region 15. We honor Jane with this scholarship as way to thank her and recognize her. Jane is an extraordinary teacher who showed tremendous care and compassion to Logan, our family, Logan’s friends and ALL of her students. This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates kindness, compassion and a desire to help others, all qualities that Jane exemplifies. This year’s recipient is Kiah Devereaux. Congratulations Colin and Kiah! We wish you both the best of luck in college.
